Caring Connections at AFM
In January 2020, the Care & Counsel committee of the Atlanta
brainstormed ideas to avoid losing track of members/attenders. Gordon Shippey
set up a spreadsheet to maintain a volunteer list of those willing to deliver meals,
drive people to appointments, run errands, or visit people at home or in hospital.
In March, C & C met with the Ministry & Worship committee and discussed the
problem of losing track of members, noting that we are all ministers and all
responsible for the care of our community.
As we all respond to Covid-19 concerns, this seems the perfect time to use the
method Gordon devised to link those in need with those able to provide service.
We’ve expanded this so that if you would like someone to check in with you on
a regular basis, you can request this as well:
If You Need Help:
You can register your needs with this CARE REQUEST Form
If You Would Like to Volunteer:
You can register your offers to assist with this CARE VOLUNTEER Form

with committee and member emails about a broad range of topics related
to being a Quaker, often including social justice issues and opportunities

newsletter becomes available on this website.
